The International Research Area on Foundations of the Sciences

Mission: Program

Pytagoras

Pythagoras is sitting in the foreground, while he is resolving a mathematical problem. The two men who are jostling to look over his shoulder recall figures in Leonardo da Vinci's unfinished Adoration of the Magi in the Uffizi. Raphael had occasion to study Leonardo's picture during his stay in Florence

Educational Activities

The Educational Activities of IRAFS are aimed at disseminating the scientific culture and knowledge derived by the contemporary most advanced research, with the related philosophical issues (ontological, anthropological, ethical, social, political ...). Two are the main directions in which we are developing our activity:

  • IRAFS Newsletter

Online publication of a newsletter about the most recent and significant scientific discovery for our students and more generally for all the students of humanistic disciplines.

  • Distance learning courses

Actually PUL is developing a series of international collaborations with foreign Universities, overall in developing countries. IRAFS is preparing a series of courses in distance learning modality related to the most advanced scientific research and their philosophical issues.
